Where we work
Diakonia has about 400 partner organizations in 25 countries. There are country offices in most countries where we have partner organizations. The regional offices are located in Bogotá, Nairobi, Jerusalem and Chiang-Mai. The head office is located in Sweden.
Africa
Diakonia works in several African countries, where we have country offices in most of them. The work is coordinated from our regional office in Nairobi, Kenya.
Asia
In Asia, Diakonia cooperates with partner organizations in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The work is co-ordinated from our regional office in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Latin America
Diakonia is present and have partner organizations in Bolivia, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru and Paraguay. The work is coordinated from our regional office in Bogotá, Colombia.
Middle East/North Africa
Diakonia works in Lebanon, the occupied Palestinian territory (oP), Egypt and Israel. We also have a regional programme for children’s literature and one for rehabilitation.
Sweden
The Diakonia head office is located in Sweden and it is from here that the long term development work is coordinated. In Sweden, Diakonia works with popular education, advocacy, policy and method development, fundraising, communication and administration.
