The Postcode Lottery's vision is to contribute to a better world for people, animals and the environment.

The Lottery is part of the Dutch Nova Media Group. It annually distributes the entire profit to organizations such as Diakonia.

Along with its sister lotteries in the Netherlands and the UK, the Swedish Postcode Lottery is the world's second largest private donor to charitable organizations. The list is topped by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Financed by lottery ticket buyers

Twenty-five per cent of the Swedish households have joined the lottery, and almost 2 million tickets are sold every month. Lottery ticket buyers in Sweden allow the dividends to be sent to Diakonia and the other organizations.

The Swedish Postcode Lottery has its own television broadcast on a major Swedish television channel (TV4) every Friday and Saturday. The show has an average of one million viewers.

"We are proud to contribute to the important work that Diakonia does. Through the beneficiaries of our work, we are taking a step closer to our vision of a better world for people, animals and the environment," says Stina Götbrink, Head of Corporate Responsibility and Charity Department at the Swedish Postcode Lottery.
